Sporting Gijon has unveiled its new jersey for the 2026-2027 season, with a classic design that incorporates golden tones and a perforated pattern with the word “PUXA” on the front and back panels.
What's new in the jersey?
The jersey retains the traditional red and white stripes, but incorporates embroidered details related to the club's identity, the Cruz de la Victoria and the motto “El Club de nuestras vidas”. The badge is accompanied by golden details, considered by the entity as its third most representative color.
How was the jersey presented?
The presentation of the jersey was innovative, with former player José Ángel, Cote, cycling up to the Pico El Sol to unveil the kit. The Banda de gaitas Villa de Xixón performed the anthem of Asturias and the Sporting anthem moments before Cote removed his jacket to reveal the new jersey.
What does it mean for the club?
The new jersey is a reflection of the club's identity and its connection to the city of Gijón and the Asturias region. With a current standing of 9th in Segunda División, 61 pts, 18W-7D-17L from 42 games, and a recent streak of 5 consecutive wins, Sporting Gijon aims to continue improving its performance in the 2026-2027 season.
