Sporting Gijon close to signing Emanuel Gularte

Sporting Gijon is close to signing Uruguayan defender Emanuel Gularte, who will arrive on loan from Mexican club Puebla. The deal includes a purchase option.

What has happened?

The club has been negotiating with Puebla to incorporate the South American defender. The conversations are very advanced after significant progress was made between the parties in recent hours.

Why is it important for Sporting Gijon?

The arrival of Gularte would be the third signing of the new Sporting Gijon project, after the additions of goalkeeper Egoitz Arana and defender Jorge Sáenz. Nicolás Larcamón will have the central defender he expressly requested from the Orlegi Sports sports committee.

What comes next?

Rayo Vallecano is currently working on hiring a replacement for Iñigo Pérez, who recently left the club to join Villarreal CF. Once that issue is resolved, the club's intention would be to define the role they want to offer Óscar Trejo within their sports structure.
